As I reflect on our first annual "Thanksgiving in a Box," I am filled with gratitude and joy. This initiative not only created a sense of community but also allowed us to actively demonstrate God's love for His people.

From the moment we began setting up our red tables, brimming with turkeys and bags full of all the fixings for a traditional Thanksgiving meal, we felt a the presence of the Lord. Onlookers stopped by, their curiosity piqued by our preparations. Their words of encouragement and prayers felt like a favor cloud of God hovering protectively over our endeavor.

Our recipients were full of appreciation. The look of relief and gratitude in their eyes told us more than words ever could. Each box we prepared not only provided a hearty meal but also a message of love and hope. The community responded warmly, their welcoming spirit reinforcing our commitment to this ministry.

This my friends, was the ministry of Love in action.

Our mission wasn't about selling prophecies, preying on people's emotions, or recruiting membership. Instead, we were serving and listening to the hearts of our fellow sisters and brothers - all in the spirit of love.

We need more pop-up mobile outreach centers that exemplify God's love in its purest form.

As I reflect on this experience, I am reminded of Matthew 25:35-36 (NIV), "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

Our first annual "Thanksgiving in a Box" was a testament to these words. We served those in need, and in doing so, we served God. Let us continue to live out this scripture, not just during the holiday season, but every day of our lives.

Let us continue to embody the free, unending, and unconditional love of God.
